According to the New York Daily News, city finance official have recently posted five years of property tax refunds online for the public to see. ?The goal is to give landlords and tenants all the information they could possibly need,? said Finance Commissioner David Frankel to the Daily News. ?The city benefits by making all of our transactions more transparent.?
The online postings are a result of concerns raised by many small-business owners who were concerned about their leases, which requires them to pay for a share of property tax increases.
