Facebook iPhone and iPad app update speeds everything up

10 hrs.

The Facebook for iOS just got updated, and odds are that you'll be quite happy with it.?While things barely look different, everything is faster.

In a blog post announcing the update, Facebook's Mick Johnson explains that the social network has rebuilt things "from the ground up" and that version 5.0 of the Facebook for iOS app should be "twice as fast as the previous version when launching the app, scrolling through news feed and opening photos in feed."

Rather than taking his word for it, we tested it out for ourselves, and sure enough,?based on our own quick tests, the app does appear brisker than before. We'll see how things are after a couple of days of regular use, just to make sure the speed bump isn't all in our heads.

You can snag the latest version of Facebook for iOS through the Apple App Store.
